Frequently asked questions

Yes. If your trademark is not renewed within the required periods it will be cancelled by the USPTO.

To keep your trademark registered, your trademark must be renewed at or around the 5 year anniversary of its original registration date as well as on or before every ten-year anniversary of the registration.

So if your trademark registered on April 5, 2020, it will need to be renewed by the following dates:

April 5, 2025

April 5, 2030

April 5, 2040

And so on …

You will need a U.S. licensed attorney to assist you with your renewal filing.

In short, to combat fraud on the USPTO the trademark office now requires any foreign trademark applicant or trademark registrant to have U.S. counsel. So when you go to renew, simply select our Attorney-led option. We’ve got you covered.
